Rosters

When you create a new race, you need to load a roster.

Blank Roster will load a list of rider bibs with placeholder names and teams.

Import Web Startlist will let you browse to a download link on my website. I plan to support major US and World Tour Stage Races depending on demand from customers.

Import csv from Document Provider uses services like iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc to download and select the csv file that you have created from your registration information. This allows you to pick Excel or another spreadsheet program to create your file and get it on your iPad in an easy manner.

The Import csv from Local Directory lets you import files already in your Bib Grid document directory. You can move files to that directory in iTunes using a USB cable. In iTunes go to Apps for the device and scroll down to File Sharing. This works on a Mac or Windows PC and won't require an active internet connection like cloud services do.

Blank Roster

When you are at a small local race or where you just need a fast way to get started with Bib Grid, generate a Blank Roster without rider and team information.

First select either Team Race or a Number Series.

A Team Race will have a set number of riders per team and a number of teams. Pick the maximum and then Hide any rider numbers that are not in the race. You can supply a Starting Bib Number if your Bib numbers do not start at 1. (For example, your numbers start at 201.)

A Number Series will just use the Starting and Ending Bib numbers and create a rider for every number in the range. The team car squares on each line with not be created.

Startlist File Import

If you have access to registration data, you can create a file of comma separated values (csv) to import into the app. The file should contain one header row (with the supported column headings)  and then a row for each rider in the race.

Currently the app supports two formats:

Bib, Name, Team, Teamcode

or

Bib, Lastname, Firstname, Team, Teamcode

Version 1.1 adds support for importing UCICode and Age columns.

The columns can be in any order and the header column can be any case (upper/lower).

You can see examples on the website of startlists supplied for the app at http://startlists.blogspot.com/. This website uses download links to files stored on Google Drive with sharing set to "Anyone who has the link can view." Feel free to use any file hosting that suits you; just provide the URL (cut and paste is a good idea) or browse to it using the browser in "Import Web Startlist".
